Abstract: The double-layer Dy1−x Ni x /Ni structures have been studied in situ in an ultrahigh-vacuum chamber by the original technique using the surface meridional Kerr effect directly in the course of deposition. It has been shown that a layer of Dy1−x Ni x alloy is ferromagnetically ordered at room temperature.
