Abstract: Tanks and water towers as regulating capacities are used everywhere in systems of water supply of settlements. In this article the problem of definition of the regulating volume of tanks and pressure head constructions of pipeline systems is considered. The mathematical model is formulated and the algorithm of the decision of a problem which allows to find the daily schedule of work of pump station is developed so that the regulating volume of constructions was minimum. The software with use of modern means of visual programming (Builder C ++) is developed.

Keywords: systems water supply, regulating capacities, step function, non-local optimisation.
