The elastic semi-space consolidation under the normal load on a square area

Abstract: We investigate the elastic saturated semi-space consolidation under the uniform normal load on a square area. The analytical forms for the fluid pressure and the semi-space surface settlement are found by the solutions to the Dirichlet problem for the Laplace equation and the first boundary-value problem for the heat equation.
