Abstract: Hybrid Monte Carlo ray tracing using Langevin equations is effective not only for global illumination simulation but also for optical system design. In our work, we explored Langevin dynamics as one of the most advanced methods for traversing complex space to improve the search for suitable candidates for gradient-based local optimization in optical inverse engineering methods. For optical systems, the significance function calculation model was extended to the case where the ray transformation at the nodes of the ray path is singular (direct transmission, specular reflection, Fresnel boundary).

Keywords: êay tracing, Langevin equation, optical system design.
