Calculation of nucleosynthesis during accretion onto a compact object

A. A. Filina

Abstract: This work is devoted to the study the influence of hydrodynamic instabilities in accretion disks on their chemical composition. Specifically, it examines the process of nucleosynthesis in accretion disks near the surface of a compact object (neutron star or black hole) under shear instability conditions. Results of thermonuclear combustion calculations are presented for two initial disk compositions. These studies will allow for further refinement of quantitative estimates of the contribution of accretion disks to enriching the chemical composition of the Universe.

Keywords: Accretion disks, Nucleosynthesis, Neutron Stars, Black Holes.
