Numerical modeling of the electromagnetic accelerator structural elements loading using the Lagrange multiplier method with a detached contact boundary
Abstract:
The solution of the multicontact interaction problem of structural elements inside the barrel of a railgun-type electromagnetic mass accelerator is considered. The finite element method is chosen for approximating the equations of elasticity theory, while the Lagrange multiplier method with a detached contact boundary is used to account for contact conditions. The performed calculations made it possible to determine the contact boundaries between structural elements, identify stress concentration zones and provide data for strength and reliability analysis of the structures.
