Abstract: The preprint summarizes the experience of mathematical modeling of traffic flows on urban road networks using the theory of cellular automata. The proposed multi-lane model allows the description of traffic on complex road networks and takes into account drivers with different lane change strategies. The model is the basis for a set of programs that can be used to obtain various average traffic characteristics, such as, for example, the throughput of an intersection. In addition, the software package allows you to predict the consequences of various decisions regarding changes in the road infrastructure.

Keywords: mathematical modeling, traffic flows, microscopic models, cellular automata.
