Abstract: We explore the statistics of Russian companies economical activity characteristics in 1999–2013 collected by SPARK–Inerfax. We study the gain distribution by means of rank–size analysis to determine criteria for separation of big and medium size enterprises. We consider gain rates in terms of non-parametrical statistics that allows to validate optimal criteria for separation of gazelle-firms.

Keywords: power laws, scale invariance, rank–size dependence, big and medium size enterprises, statistics of Russian companies, gazelles.
