Abstract: In the present work we study magnetoelastic effect in magnetic nanoparticles of elliptical, square and triangular shapes. Distribution of particles magnetization is investigated depending on their shape and the applied strain. Mechanical deformations lead to the appearance of new metastable states, and may change the particle ground state. The deformations significantly affect the distribution of the magnetization in the particles. This can be detected by magnetic force microscopy.

Keywords: micromagnetic simulation, magnetoelastic effect, magnetic force microscopy, submicron particles.
