Abstract:
The dispersion relation and lifetimes of the resonances in elastic scattering of electrons with energies above the edge of the continuous spectrum of a (001) fcc copper film have been calculated for the first time. It has been found that there is a resonance band with very long lifetimes in a specific region of electron quasi-momenta in the direction $\bar{Y}$ of the two-dimensional Brillouin zone. The specificity of these states should be taken into account when describing the transport of sliding low-energy electron beams in a quantum-well copper film.
