Ferroelectric and piezoelectric properties of protein amino acids and their compounds

Abstract: Protein amino acids and some of their compounds have been studied. A number of glycine-based compounds exhibit ferroelectric properties. These properties have not been observed in chiral amino acids, but they have been revealed in some of their symmetric isomers.
