Abstract:
The structural, static magnetic and resonance properties of the new magnet LiMgFe$_2$(VO$_4$)$_3$ obtained by solid-phase synthesis from the initial oxides Li$_2$CO$_3$, Fe$_2$O$_3$, MgO and V$_2$O$_5$ were studied. The features of the trigonal crystal structure of LiMgFe$_2$(VO$_4$)$_3$ with mixed cations Mg$^{2+}$/Fe$^{3+}$ in one position with symmetry described by the non-centrosymmetric space group P1 allow the existence of competing magnetic exchange interactions with a high level of magnetic frustrations. The dependence of the static magnetic susceptibility on the cooling conditions of the sample, characteristic of the spin-glass magnetic state, was found.
