Abstract: A comparative study of the Raman scattering spectra of light by glycine molecules in an aqueous solution (0.8%) and on the surface of metallic silver, also in solution, is carried out. The difference between the positions and relative intensity of the lines in these two cases is revealed. The experimental results allowed us to formulate qualitative model representations of the interaction of molecules with the substrate.

Keywords: amino acids, glycine, Raman scattering, oscillator damping.
