Abstract:
A method for statistical description of a turbulent diffusion combustion jet is proposed. The method is based on a conditional function of the probability distribution density of a chemically inert impurity concentration that takes into account the alternating character of the flame front in a turbulent medium. On this basis, the main conditionally averaged concentration characteristics of a jet in the case of propane combustion and the relative pulse intensity for inert impurity concentrations in the entire field of turbulent flow are calculated. The calculations are in agreement with the available experimental data.
