Character of the electrical conductivity of detonation products of explosive mixtures

Abstract: On the basis of measurements of the electrical conductivity of the detonation products of aluminum-RDX mixtures, we have shown that metal burning begins immediately behind the detonation front and lasts over 10 $\mu$sec. For aluminized explosives, the increased-conductivity zone corresponds to the high-temperature region which is due to the reaction of metal with detonation products of explosives.
