Abstract: The Lyakhov model for multicomponent media, whose rigorous mathematical justification is obtained using an asymptotic averaging technique is considered. It is shown that the nature of long-wave action differs at different scale levels. At the microlevel the behavior of the medium obeys thermodynamic laws, while at the macrolevel it manifests itself as wave motion for average characteristics.
