Abstract: We studied the wear effect of the surfaces in contact upon frictional heating of a material in a pulse-periodic regime of thermal action. An analytical method for solution of the problem is proposed, which is based on the splitting of the generalized integral Fourier transform relative to the spatial variable. It is shown that wearing the surfaces in contact during frictional heating results in a decrease in the magnitude of the maximum attainable heating. It is shown theoretically that, for high-melting energetic materials, the melting point is the upper limit of the maximum attainable heating on a nonstationary sliding contact.
