Abstract:
A laminar flame front propagating in a closed-end channel with an obstacle is simulated. Ignition is initiated at the closed end of the channel. The simulations revealed the entrainment of the flame in the vortex behind the obstacle, the expulsion of the vortex from the channel by the flame, and flame fragmentation.
Keywords:flame–vortex interaction, flame fragmentation, ejection of the vortex by the flame.
