Abstract: Thermodynamically coupled dehydrogenation of ethane in a membrane reactor is studied by mathematical modeling. The dehydrogenation of ethane in a membrane reactor with additional combustion of hydrogen is shown to have an advantage over dehydrogenation in a tubular reactor. Verification of the mathematical model of the process is performed.

Keywords: hydrogen combustion, dehydrogenation, thermodynamically coupled processes, catalytic membrane reactor, mathematical modeling.
