Abstract:
A method for estimating absolute concentrations of Ñ$_2$H$_5$ and H radicals in hydrocarbon diffusion flames is proposed and substantiated. Concentration profiles of Ñ$_2$H$_5$ and H on the flame axis are obtained. In the method proposed, the concentration of Ñ$_2$H$_5$ is determined from the equality of two quantities – the rate of loss of n-butane by diffusion and the rate of its formation by recombination of two Ñ$_2$H$_5$ radicals. The concentration of H radicals is determined from the relation between the ratio Ñ$_2$H$_5$/H and experimental profiles of Ñ$_2$H$_4$, Ñ$_2$H$_6$, and O$_2$.
