Abstract: A noncontact method for determining the electrical conductivity of nonmagnetic metals and alloys under shock-wave loading was developed. The method is based on recording the eddy-current decay rate in a foil of the material studied. The conductivity of aluminum was measured at pressure up to 14 GPa.

Keywords: shock wave, explosive loading, electrical conductivity, magnetic field.
