Abstract:
A new approach that allows combustion in slightly exothermic Cr/B and Cr/Ti/B mixtures and obtaining cast boride ceramics is developed. This approach is based on stimulating the combustion of Cr and Ti systems with boron by a highly exothermic calcium peroxide mixture with aluminum. Regular features of combustion of Cr/Ti/B/CaO$_2$/Al hybrid mixtures and dynamics of chemical transformations in combustion waves are studied, and a mechanism of the process is proposed.
