Hamiltonian approach in nonlinear fiber optics

Abstract: The Hamilton approach is applied to the solution of an expanded pulse-propagation equation in optical fibers for an arbitrary nonlinearity. It is shown that the solitonic solution is a function of the hyperbolic cosine at any nonlinearity.
