Abstract: Reviewed opportunity use of copper nanoparticles as an additive to lubricating oil. Add copper nanoparticles lubricating oil can reduce the friction coefficient and the wear of the friction surfaces, increase the power and resources of the engine, thus reducing air pollution. Presents results of tests the parts for friction and wear in the environment of lubricating oil with the addition of copper nanoparticles. Established that the introduction of copper nanoparticles in oil increases its performance properties and reduces abrasion of the surface of friction parts.

Keywords: copper nanoparticles, lubricant oil additive, friction, wear.
