Abstract:
As ESR-technique showed, the products of reaction of Nitrogen dioxide with Phenylone (Nomex-aromatic polyamide: poly-m-phenylene isophthalamide) include compounds which are sensitive to Oxygen and generate stable macroradicals under air at room temperature. The radicals are of Phenoxyl and Diarilaminoxyl types. The corresponding reaction chemical mechanism is presented.
Keywords:àromatic polyamides, nitrated phenylone, nitrogen dioxide, diarylamimoxyl and phenoxyl macroradicals.
