On computing error of an adaptive algorithm for mean estimation

Abstract: The paper discusses the effect of computation errors on accuracy in estimating the average with the use of iterative and noniterative algorithms. Analytical expressions for error estimation are obtained. The iterative algorithm is found to be much less sensitive to computation errors. Experimental results are given.
