Finite-automaton approximation to the behavior of continuous plants

Abstract: Sufficient conditions are considered under which for a continuous plant a deterministic automaton can be constructed such that with “coordinated” initial states of the plant and the automaton the output signals of the latter will not, at specified discrete times, differ from the associated plant output signals generated in response to all possible input signals by more than a specified value.
