Measurement-computation converter as a measurement facility

Abstract: Consideration was given to the elements of the theory of measurement-computation converters (ICC) whose mathematical fundamentals were expounded in the monographs [1,2] oriented to the readers interested in the mathematical aspects of the ICC theory. Applied orientation and the basic mathematical constructions of the theory of linear stochastic ICC's as measurement facilities were considered at the algebraic level accessible to a wide readership. Illustrated were the corollaries of the ICC theory that are topical for technical applications. The most important of them is the requirement on the characteristic of the measurement converter (MC) which ensures the maximal performance of the ICC as a measurement facility and differs essentially from the requirement on the MC characteristics ensuring its high performance as a measurement facility of the same purpose. Consideration was given to the new notions of performance of the ICC as a measurement facility and performance of the MC as a component of the ICC class, MC and ICC eigenbases as tools of exhaustive analysis of MC and ICC, respectively.
