Response Criteria and Characteristics of Transistor Logical Elements

Abstract: A transistor logical element (LE) response criterion is proposed and justified that uses the magnitude of the minority transistor base carriers charge. Simple functional dependencies are found to characterize the LE response. It is shown that for a circuit of $N$-cascaded LE the resultant characteristic may be found through solution of a system of differential equations. The theoretical conclusions are confirmed by experimental data.
