Use of optimal nonlinear estimation theory in statistical image processing

Abstract: Optimal nonlinear estimation methods lead to solution of a simultaneous problem of modeling and identification of closed loops of an arbitrary form that are boundaries of objects in a noisy image which is regarded as a two-dimensional random field.
