Abstract:
The paper is concerned with specification of optimal operating modes for an oilfield with due regard for the dynamic flooding processes with a view to maximizing the ultimate yield over the entire period of operation. The field is describe by nonlinear set of partial differential equations. A solution method is proposed which is a numerical version of the maximum principle whereby the initial dynamic problem is decomposed into a sequence of special static problems for time instants. The method is substantiated and its convergence proved with the use of the necessary optimality conditions.
