The structure of a family of feedbacks and the stability of ecological systems

Abstract: Stability criteria are obtained for the algae – phosphorous system. The stability conditions are compared for models with lumped (a digital set of feedbacks) and distributed (continuous set of feedbacks) delays. In the latter case there is a global characteristic (variance) of the family of feedbacks which is the indicator of stability of water phytocoenoses.
