Majority functional operators in the voting theory

Abstract: Functional operators are studied which transform sets of individual choice functions into a «collective» choice function. Functional operators are characterized formalizing majority and simple majority rules. A metric on space of choice functions is introduced. The problem of finding the choice function (median) nearest to individual choice functions is solved. The kinship of medians with majority functional operators is established.
