Program waiting time estimation for a computer having limited resources

Abstract: A method is proposed for approximate estimation of the mean time to start of serving the demand for program execution in a time sharing computer whose resources such as memory, files, number of servers are the objects of competition between programs. The method can be implemented in a computer. In alalytically testable cases the estimate in an approximation, nearest the theoretical value for a heavily loaded computer.
