On one estimate of the mean queue length in a single-line service system

Abstract: A method is suggested for estimating mean characteristics for $GI/GI/1/\infty$ systems. By using this method new estimates are obtained for a queue of a mean length in an $E_{\gamma}/GI/1/\infty$ system with gamma distribution of input flow intervals.
