Abstract: The survey gives a systematic treatment of methods which make it possible to analyze processes involved in human comparison of multi-criterial options. Five groups of such methods are indicated. The results of recent investigations are considered which enable understanding information processing by man. Man's strategies and heuristic tools are investigated.
