Effectiveness of using time redundancy for improving reliability of control program packages

Abstract: Costs are considered which in totality define program functioning reliability. A procedure is given for estimating the mean time between failures and availability of a program package as a function of program debugging, real time monitoring, and repair costs. An example is given of analyzing the effectiveness of introducing time redundancy into programs.
