Abstract:
Definitions are provided and problems of an optimal ranking incentive system (RIS) and its subsystems are stated. The relationship of the number of ranks (dimension) and effectiveness is established. The notions of classification value and minimality are defined. The necessary and sufficient conditions for minimality of primary classification are found, in particular, in the case of progressive RISs. The approach to optimal design is illustrated with normative RISs as an example.
