Necessary conditions for optimality of movable control and optimal sliding modes

Abstract: With reference to systems described by a heat conductivity equation the paper describes optimal control in the class of mobile and distributed signals. Functional analysis methods lead to necessary optimality conditions in that class. For problems with a mobile source of control the optimal process is shown to be generally realizable by sliding modes.
