Abstract:
Long-term forecasts for individual industries must be coordinated in term of the input and output of all products. An approach to coordination is developed which supplements the existing procedure and operates by varying the forecasts for individual industries. The variation is intended to extend the set or forecasts so as to ensure the existence of a coordinated totality of forecasts, or plan. In the case of non-uniqueness the optimal plan is chosen from the set of plans. Methodologically the proposed procedure generates a new approach to design of dynamic inter-industrial models of the economy.
