Optimization of closed-loop stochastic networks

Abstract: An algorithm is proposed for optimization of closed-loop service networks one of whose properties is local balance. The throughput, load, and average queue length are studied as a function of the service rate. The proposed algorithm is applied to optimization of the computer system and network throughput.
