Abstract: For a one-dimensional heat transfer system with a moving heat source, we calculate the transfer and pulse transfer functions of the temperature in the system with respect to the ambient temperatures at the system boundaries as well as the temperature response to the heat flux from the moving heat source. In the present paper, the dimensions of the heat source are considered to be negligible compared with the dimensions of the system; this makes it natural to use the technique of distributions.

Keywords: heat transfer system, moving heat flux source, transfer function, pulse transfer function.
