Abstract: We present an attracting cylinder method, which is a generalization of the invariant ellipsoid method to the cases of tracking and observation problems. Based on the method developed, we propose an algorithm for calculating the parameters of a controller ensuring the boundedness of the tracking or observation error in the presence of bounded exogenous disturbances. The efficiency of the approach proposed is demonstrated with examples.

Keywords: tracking problem, observation problem, disturbance rejection.
