Abstract:
Control of networks (or networked systems) is an emerging area of the modern automatic control theory. It is characterized by cobination of a classical control theory apparatus (linear systems, nonlinear systems, robust control, etc) with new mathematical ideas coming mainly from graph theory. Methods of control of networks allow to solve the analysis and design problems for complex systems arising in physics, biology, economy, sociology and engineering. In the survey the main directions of the modern control of networks are presented as well as the formulations of its key results, mostly published during the last decade.
